My electric sunroof won't open after I had to disconnect the battery cables in the engine bay to get to the O2 Sensor connection below. It was disconnected for about 45 minutes. I have already pulled the fuses and the other int. accessory fuses, but they look good. I went ahead and changed the fuse just incase and still nothing. Is there an iternal fuse in the motor? Or possibly the car has to run through a few drive cycles before everyting comes back online ? Any other ideas:?:
Thanks

Update----I found a recalibration process for the sunroof if the battery has been disconnected, but it didn't work. The sunroof is still stuck shut. Everything else on the car is working fine. I guess I'll just give it time and see if it starts to operate eventually.

Did you lock and unlock the car three times with the key?

I didn't. Should I disconnect the battery again and then do it?

Yes, try JRL's tip first. If that doesn't work, I'm going to bet that you didn't reconnect the battery with the key in position II? If not, pull the battery cables, touch them together, place the ignition in position II, reconnect the positive cable last, then do not enter the car until the SRS light goes out (or until 2 minutes has elapsed with it on, whichever is first)--this lets the computers initialize and startup properly on the P2 cars.brandonbeach14 wrote:I didn't. No, I didn't have the Key in position II. I'll try JRL's 1st and then yours if needed and let you know. Thanks again.
This happens to me every time I do a battery. SO I will tell you all how to get it to work.
Roll down drivers window and close door
lock car and wait 1 Minute.(this will set the alarm system even if siren is bad)
Reach in through open window and open door(will set off alarm)
Use key in door to shut off alarm
Sunroof works.
Have been doing this for seveeral years and works every time.

Try beetlebob's procedure before disconnecting the battery; no harm in seeing if it works. If not, then go through the whole disconnect, key in II, reconnect process.

Well, I have tried every suggestion above with no results as well as the calibration process in the Haynes Manual. How long should I leave the battery disconnected? I only left disconnected for a couple of minutes before trying each above. I also don't have a remote for the car, but I'm not sure if that would be an issue or not. Thanks again.
