Hi,

After problems with the Bevel Gear and VC one writer has mentioned that I may be better off totally removing the bevel gear due to the loud whining from the unit without the drive shaft installed.

Does anyone have experience with this. How do I "seal" the output shaft area?

Any help appreciated.

I haven't done it, but did bookmark a link just in case I needed the info in the future. Check out the following:

Again, from VolvoXC, seems like a very easy project.

http://www.volvoxc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=18467

-Remove passenger side axle.
-Unbolt bevel gear
-Replace metal collar with some Loctite or similar
-Replace axle.

Done.

I'll be doing this in a week or so. I'll make a DIY writeup.
