How do you change the Position/Parking bulb?

Post by Boff »

Hi All

The right hand, rear position bulb on my 2002 V70 D5 SE needs replacing. This happened a while ago so I gave it a slap and it came back on for about a month, then went out again, slapped it again, worked, then went out for good.

So, this morning, over 2 hours ago, I thought I'd finally replace the bulb. Looked on-line and was really impressed at how easy it is to twist the huge handle things, pop out a bulb, pop a new one in and away you go. Not so. It's the top bulb of the lower cluster which, for some reason, has a different thing holding it in that won't budge, doesn't twist and requires all the skin off your hand before you get anywhere. I've got to the no skin on my hand stage and that's it    . Can someone tell me how I change this bulb?

Many thanks

Joe

There are two access points, either through the speaker or the carpeted panel below. On our 02XC all of the rear bulbs have the twist out holder. it may be stuck with corrosion. And yes there is alot of my skin in that compartment as well.
