850 A/C hypercool

Post by SimLyons »

Tis the season for all the A/C issues to show themselves. Mine started in late spring when I wrote that my A/C didn't cool. With the help of the folks here I got it working just fine. Good pressure, great output temps at the vents, no leaks, etc.

Now...I turn on the A/C and it puts out cold air at all temp settings (Mine is the 97 850 R with the Climate Control). Whether I set it at the coldest or hottest (as long as the A/C switch is on) it is chilling us out! Any suggestions for where to look?

To the temp sensors!!! They are the vents in the grab handles above the front doors. Take a computer duster can to them and blow em out real good.

Cold AC sounds heavenly right now and I cant wait til i see my car waiting for me. I just ran 4 miles in 85 degrees and a thousand % humidity. Bleh.

There are also sensors behind the dash in the duct work. Not sure if those would be a problem but wanted to let you know.

I took a can of "Dust Off" out to the car and gave both sensors a good, fairly gentle dusting. It's gonna be hot this afternoon so I'll test in a few hours. If that didn't do it I'll uncover the sensors and maybe use the brush.

Thanks for the great advice!
