Hi, Iam Otis am back again. Last time I had troubles with oxygen sensory and transmission. Need help with ABS service light now. I have a 2000 S80 volvo with a 2.9 liter none turdo, with 191,017 miles. With your help last I was able to get the lights off for the oxygen sensory and the transmissoin light. I change the fluid and the filter and took it to dealer to reset the computer in it.
My wife was on the way to work whenthe ABS light came on. The car drives fine and brakes work fine. Tried bleeding system, cleaning master cylinder, cleaning brake fluid reservoir and new brake fluid. I finish up and when to test drive and the STC srevice light came on. Now both ABS and STC lights are on. When you turn off the car and start back up the STC light isn't on until I drive a short distance aand the STC light comes on. Please help! Appreciate your help last time. Iam having fun now!!

No one seems to be replying so I might suggest that you check around the sensors which monitor the speed of the wheels. Each wheel has one which is located around the wheel. If the 'teeth' which activate the sensor get rusty or some debris or the sensor is not close enough to the teeth or the sensor goes bad, then the computer thinks that the wheel is not going the same speed as the others. ABS and stability control are all about make all wheels rotate the same speed or make one or more to brake to maintain control/stability.
From what I have read on this forum, if the actual ABS controller goes bad, you get a lot of other apparent malfunctions such as no speedometer and other warning lights etc on the dash. Therefore it doesn't sound like the controller is the problem.
I guess I should have asked if there are an DTC's?

Thank You dcarlson12, I have been on a few times after I have posted it I have clean the wheel senor, flush the brake system, and the STC light came on, it have a ABS/STC Traction Control Unit 8619538. I don't have a DTC. I went to the dealership to get it put on the computer. The dealership assured me that the ABS Module is out that its no need to do a diagnose test. The dealer said it would be 120 dollars for the diagnose test; the dealer suggested to put it toward the ABS Module. I went to the Part department at the dealership, and they told me $875.45 for the part. The Volvo dealership I went to is in Jackson,Ms (Paul Moak). I drove 208 miles round trip for them to tell me that, but i don't know if thats my problem. I at a stand still. Should I buy One or go to another dealership. The closes one is in New Orleans ( 3 1/2 hours from where i live). Thanks for your help very much!!
