... at Kmart yesterday. Just the regular M1, not extended or strawberry-mango or whatever. I'm pretty proud of myself. Bought three.

I was in one of the local wal-marts and they had clearanced 10 Mobil 1 5w30 quarts for $1.00. Needless to say it all left with me and I checked for any more stuck away anywhere. I think they quit stocking so many flavors of Mobil 1 and this was one they were discontinuing. I went immediately and purchased it and put it out in the wagon before they could change their mind....
I also went to the other store across town (not a HUGE town mind you) to see if that store was doing the same. They still had it on shelf and I asked and they said it would be sold at reg price until gone, I like store #1 manager WAY better.

I always buy my oil from Walmart. I bought 2 gallons of Mobile 1 5W-30 there for the price of 5 quarts from the "other" autoparts store in town...

The only time you buy oil from a parts store is when its on the oil change special. I got 5 quarts of Mobil 1 synth oil and a Mobil 1 filter ($14 by itself) for $33.99, now that's a deal. And you could upgrade to the extended performance for another 2 dollars

While searching for the 3309 spec ATF I went to Walmart and they had 5 qts.of Castrol Import Multi ATF. Figured I'd find the rest (7+ qts) somewhere in town. No dice!! So I called the Distributors on Oregon who handled the Mobil 3309 and the one who handled the Castrol Import Multi ATF (meets 3309). Neither had dealers in Bend who stocked it. I asked the Castrol guy about Walmart. He says they make their own deals with the manufacturers and bypass the Distributors. Anyway, the Mobil Distr sent me a case of 3309 and spilt the freight. $62.00. Not bad. BTW: The Toyota dealer wanted $7.65 per qt!!
