Here is a list of things I did:
1. Changed out 2 ignition coils
2. Replaced Evap Purge solenoid
3. Disassembled and repaired the ABS module(cleared up most of my issues)
4. Cleaned the throttle body
5. Replaced spark plugs
6. Replaced all visible rubber vacuum lines
7. Cleaned up and repaired any broken or cracked evap lines using "self amalgamating" tape

If you are having issues with the ABS/Brake light problem that these cars are known for, inspect your suspension...bad front struts will put some serious stress on the ABS module...

If you don't have access to a code scanner, check with your local Autozone or Advance Auto Parts, they'll check it for free...

You can buy a basic code reader for around $40.00 USD, with your Loonies it should be even cheaper. It won't do all of the fancy real time monitoring but it will read and reset power train codes.
