Engine stops when shiftin to Dr

Engine is B20F, ZF automatic transmission. Last 10 or 15 days: I start the engine in the morning, let it warm up and when I shift to Dr, the engince stops abruptly. If I shift to R, it works OK. I've been letting it warm for 5 or 6 minutes and it was working. However, today no matter how warm, the engine stops when I shift to Dr. It still works when I shift to R.
Any ideas?
