2001 s80 cant tun key in ignition

Turning the key in the ignition has been a problem for about a month or so, it would turn past position one and two after sliding it in and out and wiggling. Finally, not able to turn it on after trying for hours. What do i need? Tried spaying WD40 on the key and that doesn't work. Any advice would help.

You will probably need to have it towed to a dealer to have them install an new tumbler. It happened to me. About $125 for the towing and about $500 for the labour and parts. Crappy experience and certainly not impressive from my point of view but since I wanted to keep the car There was nothing else I could do, at least as far a I know.....
If it happened a lot, maybe someone could start a class action suit or ??? i.e. So we could be reimbursed, eg a recall

Your gonna need a new tumbler. We can save you some money over going to the local dealer and if you can install it yourself, save even more. It is part number 31253385 and it sells for $221.15 plus you get free shipping if you mention MVS.
