We have blown up the last two 2.4L NA engines in the 24 Hours of Lemons race series.
# 1: June 2010 - original 1994 NA engine with 220k miles lasted 3.5 hours at Summit Point, WV
blew connecting rod through the front of the block
January 2011 - installed '96 engine with 158k miles, Palm Beach, FL, ran 24 Hours straight ,
engine ran beautifully, no issues
#2: June 2011 - '96 engine above, ran for about 3 hours and lost compression in all 5 cyinders,
dead in the water now.
We need a used 2.4L NA engine for our 1994 850 RaceWagon - cheap preferred.
Washington DC area preferred.
Thanks!

It sounds like a ton of fun. My experience with racing things is that you can make a small fortune doing it - so long as you have a large fortune to start off with.24 Hours of Lemons race series
Losing compression on all cylinders kinda points to lawn mower syndrome - have you tried dumping a teaspoon of oil into all cylinders and trying to start it again? If the car was running at full pace when it quit that is not likely the problem.
Per forum rules I am moving this post to the parts section - Toms foreign auto parts goes through a ton of Volvos and they are fairly close to you by midwest standards.
