Problem trying to run VADIS

Post by EChem »

Got a torrent copy of VADIS. Loaded t after changing date to 6/1/2004 as per instructions. Logged in as sysadm. Created myself as a new user. When I log in, I have 3 problems so far.

1. I can only open VADIS by right-clicking the shortcut and opening it as administrator.
2. If I minimize VADIS, it is in my tray, when I move my mouse over it, the small window that pops up is blank, and I can not leftt click on it to maximize it and if I right click on it, no menu comes up (to restore, close, etc.). I have to use task manager to close it and then reopen VADIS.
3. I am trying to open repair instructions. I select "Repair and installation instructions" in the left box, and when I select any component under the "Topics" box, press the "Continue" button and I always get the error message, "Can't find ID wth value:
VCC-XXXXXX (with the X's being different numerals depending on the component selected).

Can anyone help?

Thanks.

Sellers on eBayUK state that VADIS is not compatible with Vista nor on 64bit operating systems.

The versions being sold on eBayUK do not require the date to be changed. This is an indication that the torrent version has been taken from one of the very early copies of VADIS.

Thanks, Bill. I read the post below, where it says it should work by setting the compatability to Windows XP, service pack 3. When I go into the compatability tab, the only choice I have to set it for is Windows XP, service pack 2. However, I still have the same problem. Anyone successfully install VADIS on a Vista platform?
