auto to manual swap

Post by VT98S70T5 »

Hello everyone, i am new here but have been a volvo lover for years now. i drive a 1998 s70 t5 se with an automatic transmission, my car has about 155k miles on it. i am in the process of buying an exact twin to my car ( wrecked ) that has a manual transmission in it. can anyone help me out and let me know if the trans will bolt into my car if i do a swap?

I think it should, at least up-to 2000 year models anyway I think.

If you want advice on manual transmissions though, I'd consider setting up an account on that British Forum I linked to above, because very few people on this American-Centric Forum have even seen a stick shifted 850, let alone know anything about them. In the UK by comparison, 81% of all 850's are manual transmission equipped and the auto to manual conversion is a very common thing to do there.

Best of luck!
