Door Panel Delamination

Post by SpeedyPete »

Hello Friends: I was wondering if their are any other door panels from other models (not S70) which would be a direct fit replacement which do not have the delamination issue? I removed the panels, and had new material sew at the arm rest area, however the foam behind this area has broken down and released. Lesson learned get rid of the foam also. My problem is when I reassembled the door panels I used Sika Flex this is a very durable construction sealant/adhesive and there will be no further disassembly of these panels. Any suggestions? Best Regards to all, SpeedyPete

Thank you RSPI: This is what I tried to mimic on the cheap. It only cost me $100.00 for material and labor from a local upholster with the panels out. He worked on the arm rest area only and did nice french seams. The panels looked great when I picked them up and reinstalled them. But one summer later and Darn That Foam!

Get you an old truck and find a "70 R" model and take it out. Be real nice to the owner and maybe the'll sell the car back to you. LOL Just kidding.

Hola all and RSPI  Are their specific years of R models besides 1998 I should be looking for to match my 1998 T5 for fit. I assume 1999,2000 will work also but how about other years? I will be hitting the dismantlers soon.

Look for 98'-'00 t-5 SE door panels sedan or wagon. They're easier to locate than R door panels. I found a set for $100 and swapped them up on my '98 V70.

Depends on where he is
There are basically no SE cars and panels in the US unless someone brought them in
