V70R AWD, 1998 Drivers door panel removal

Window will not raise, very cold drive from Grand Lake. Any help with applicable service tips will help. Where not many of these made? Having trouble finding info.

Chances are you have a bad contact in the master window control. If you are anywhere near an auto parts store I would be inclined to buy a can of cantact cleaner and spray the switch and see if you can at least get the window up. If not you can pry the switch out from the top and jumper a couple of contacts to get it up but I am out of town and down have the schematics with me to tell you which wires to jumper.

Here's an emergency roadside reply to get the drivers window up.

If you're just pulling the panel to reach the switch, you don't have to.
The master window switch can be removed from the armrest from the top.
The spring clips are on the sides, but you can pry it up with a tiny screwdriver
( I've even heard a butter knife will work in a pinch ) from the front or back of
the switch. A bit of tape will help prevent leaving marks on the switch frame.

Assuming you're dealing with the driver's window, once the master switch is removed
and UNPLUGGED, be sure that the the key is off. Now, use 2 paper clips to jumper
the 2 power pins coming into the plug to the two motor pins on the same plug.
A little electrical tape will keep the paper clips from shorting.

12 + = Blue - Pin A2
GND = Black - Pin A1
Window Motor (+ for up) = Blue/Green - Pin A3
Window Motor (- for up) = Green - Pin A4

I can't stress enough that the switch Must Be Unplugged.

Now turn on the key long enough to raise the window.
Reversing polarity will bring it back down.

I've been on roadtrips when stuff like that happens...Not Fun.
Came back to a truck on a camping trip once and a window was GONE.
These days, I always carry a couple of large trash bags and a
roll of tape, just in case. Noisy, but it works. Hope he's warm!
