Hesitation into drive/reverse with a "clunk"
Hey everybody,As posted about a day ago im a new S60 AWD owner and have been reading that these cars(2001-2002)seem to have some strange transmision problems now and then but I think mine might be a simple one,While at a complete stop with your foot on the brakes I engage into drive or reverse and there is a hesitation before the trans engages and sometimes I get a "clunk" sound while it engages into gear,is there a solution for this because I read of a fix for this somewhere on here and now I can't find it,thanks everyone and have a great weekend...cheers

Take a look on the automatic gearbox oil level, complete as necessary.
Look the rubber supports of the engine, upper support. maybe some are cracked or damage and it lets your engine move and clunks..
Before move from parking to reverse or from drive to reverse allow a few seconds it lets the pressure inside the box to estabilize, and it reduces the knock inside...

Thanks,(trans fluid is good) since I just got the car last week I have been doing just what you said, being patient while engaging the transmision and the clunk is not happening as much as before,I just have to get used to the car's personality. Imjust hoping it isn't going to snowball into a trans problem....thanks
