Just joined this site and thought I'd make my introduction. I've had several Volvos over the years starting with a '79 242 followed by a '79 245 then a '90 745Ti and an '86 245. Definitely a wagon guy at this point. Currently I have my '72 145E w/ 135,000 mi purchased from the original owner and now my new 2004 V70 2.5T w/ 109,000 mi also purchased from the original owner. The V70 is actually a "Titanium Edition" which I don't necessarily care for the look of, but think I may keep intact due only to the fact that it was such a limited run upgrade (i read there were only 500 made but I love to hear if that's correct or not). The previous owner bought it new when she was 74 years old and she and her husband drove it from Seattle to Palm Springs and back once a year for the winters. It recieved all scheduled services (just got timing belt at 105k) and oil changes on time from the local dealer so it still feels and looks nearly new. I've been driving my 145 exclusivly for the past few years but decided it was time to get something more suitable for daily driving and spend some money and effort further refining/restoring my '72.
Anyway, I know I was rolling the dice a bit to choose a P2 V70 but so far I'm really quite happy with the car, even if it does look a little bit old folksy. I'll try to get some decent pics of the V70 posted soon so everyone can tell me how much they like, or don't like, the silver accent trim and the chrome wheels that she paid an extra $800 for at the dealer.
Looking forward to learning more about modern volvos and commuting in leathery comfort for a change.
See ya around,
Dave
Included is a cell phone pic of my 145E in case anyone is curious.
