My Favorite Car, R.I.P.

Post by Kirby J »

I thought I would drive the car to 500,000 miles, even if I had to push it the last bit of the way. However, after a slight issue with hydroplaning and a large hickory tree, my 93 940 wagon has gone to the scrap yard at 436,682 miles. Although there is a two foot wide, two foot deep indention between the left front wheel and the left front door, I opened the drivers door and walked out of the car with out a scratch, just a small bruise on one knuckle of my left hand, and a sore thigh muscle. If you are going to hit a tree sideways at 35mph, do it in a Volvo!

Actually, I sold it to the guy that had done all my major maintenance over the years, and the next day bought from him a 92 740 wagon that he had brought back to life. He is going to pull the cruise control and CD player from the wreck, install on my new (to me) car, and I am back in business.

I am glad you are OK. Even Volvos can be replaced. Drive Safely. Yes, if I am going to hit or be hit, I want it to be in a Volvo. I have Spina Bifida, my neurosurgeon and physical medicine and rehabilitation doctor also drive Volvos and feel more comfortable with me driving Volvos.
