Just a couple of points to help members who may be facing a similar predictament. I serviced my oil trap back in January with a kit from FCP. I was experiencing smoking dipstick and numerous little oil seepage. Two issues came up that I thought were worth sharing:
1.) Ensure that vacuum port on intake manifold end is clear, mine was blocked solid. Never heard this point mentioned before.
2.) The little "sleeve" that acts as an oil return tube from the trap to the engine block was supplied by URO. Its junk, not ribbed like the original and was actually a bigger diameter. I didn't notice this at first but it caused a pretty decent oil leak and I just had to replace it with a Volvo part. The quality in this small piece is night and day. Don't do this job twice (like I have now had to do). Steer clear of URO for this part!!

ALL of the URO stuff is junk. I really wish they'd stop carrying those crappy parts.
Every single one of those hoses leaked when I had my car. I tore it all out 2 years later and stomped on them, then replaced with OEM parts.
I've never heard of that vacuum port being clogged before. I think I'll go back and add that to the write-up.

Yup, I had to completely re-do my PCV system after 4 miles due to a failed URO oil trap. Here is the thread:
