I am told by the dealer that in order to have the key replaced, I need to have the car shipped to them from the Bahamas ( lots of money
). This would mean shipping the car there have it repaired and shipping back. I heard somewhere that it may be more cost effective to have a volvo tech fly to me , at my expense of course and carry out the necessary programming. This will cut the cost some 50-70 %. Still no luck.My question is, can i purchase a wrecked 99-02 s80 t6, transfer the key switch, computer etc to my vehicle and have it work properly? My cars transmission needs some work and i was planning in swapping the trannys, that's why i thought about taking this route. At the same time i can keep the wrecked vehicle for spare parts.
