Hi,
I have a 99 Volvo V70 with a single CD player. My 2-year old inserted two CD on the slot and now the player is jammed. I need to remove the CDs in a cost-effective way. The dealer does not want to fix it.
I removed the radio myself and notice a special notice on top that says it contains radiation. Is that true?
If somebody knows how to fix this or can recommend an experts (but not dealer) in the New York area, please write.
Thanks,
felipe

You can remove the radio completely, remove the phillip screws that hold the upper cover, and try to remove the jammed CD by yourself. I have done it many time and there was no trick to it. As far as the radiation goes, I don't remember seeing that warning label. Don't worry about it because I am still alive and in good health.
Regards,
Dave

You may be mistaking the radiation warning graphic with the laser warning graphic.
CD players use a low energy laser, which is probably danergous if you turn it to point up and stare at it.
