possible bad cat ? I am thinking about replacing/ removing.

I took the Throttle body off and cleaned it a few days ago to see if it would help with idle and accel. (suspecting the throttle module Still no Check Engine lights for issues and I don't have a live data scanner yet so I cant verify if the tps signals are bad.

I drove the car for two days, then today I got on her hard and threw a code at decel the car stalled. Turns out the intake pipe popped off..

The funny thing is the car was not making any more power with the pipe reattached than it did off..

I'm wondering if maybe the cat is clogged up ??

I'm going to test with out the O2 sensor( at down pipe ) this weekend when I have time. If the card has more power the assumption will be to replace or hollow the CAT..

I am in S. Oregon so no emissions

Has any one heard of the O2 spacer trick with a hollow or race cat ?

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Kick/hit it or grab the converter and shake it to see if it sounds like gravel inside.

I don't think it blew off til you stalled.

The pipe was off at the throttle body. I drove home that way. If the car went below 1k Rpms it would stall. I just kept it in 1 and 2nd gear own the last few roads stalled a few times. Thankfully I live out of town, there is not a lot of traffic out here.

If I have to hollow the cat I'm going to put this on the car.
