clogged evaporator hose 1996 960

hello:

I'm just trying to navigate through this website/forum for the first time. Nice site... I just bought a 1996 volvo 960 and it has some major issues. 1. the heater core is bypassed - it probably leaked and that was the quick fix. What is the best way to replace that item? Dealer said 10 hours of labor.... yep!

2. water comes in the passenger compartment between the fire wall. hoping it is a clogged evaporator drain (not the evaporator itself) - where and how can i check for the clogged drain?

3. front seat does not move back and forth - but can hear motor running.

4. just passed emissions - but needs exhaust from cat back -

Also is there any volvo enthusiasts in the ashford, Ct area? I'm a basically a GM and VW tinker.

What is your opinion of the 1996 s960? It seems to run ok
