My 2005 T6 turning signals are working intermittantly. When I turn left no problem, when I turn right it sometimes doesn't work and I have to apply pressure on the arm which doesn't always help.
Can anyone tell me if the contacts in the arm's switch are mechanical, and if so are they cleanable? Does it take the specific 05 replacement or will any other year fit?
Thanks,
Roncop
Turning signal problem
Just to revive this post, I am having the same problem but opposite sides. Currently, I am completely revitalizing my volvo to last another 100,000 and working on this is on my list of To Do. Someone please help us diagnose this. Mine works giving right turn indications, but left is intermittent. I have checked the bulbs and all are 4.0. The blink rate is the same too, never fast pace flicker. Finally, when giving left turn indication I have found moving the arm slightly down or up finds a sweet spot, which screams to me it has to be the switch connection in the arm itself. Maybe a vulnerable rusty switch, dust, possible lube grim, just don't know. Mine is a 2004.
RONCOP- I am eventually going to look into removing the arm, cleaning the components and placing it back on. I'll tell you if this helps and what I used. Until then, I hope someone replies with a how to remove the arm.
