Help, Advice and DIY Tutorials on Volvo's P80 platform cars -- Volvo's 1990s "bread and butter" cars -- powered by the ubiquitous and durable Volvo inline 5-cylinder engine.
Hi, I'm hoping someone can help me figure out where this line is supposed to attach on my 98 V70 GLT. I was replacing a leaking heater hose today and when I pulled out the air filter housing, I found this line just hanging out under the lower portion of the filter housing. It is a black rubber vacuum elbow attached to a hard white plastic line that runs to another black rubber line that is attached to a small metal pipe that runs along the backside of the engine along a coolant inlet from the lower radiator hose. The only text on the white line is "VOLVO 967563". I have included a picture below. It is the line with the red squiggle running through it and the arrows pointing at it.
The car runs fine, no check engine light, no issues. When starting the vehicle, the hose doesn't seem to have any vacuum when I put my finger over it.
