Folks,
I'm dying here...the dashboard of my wife's 2000 V70 has a mind-bending, constant rattle/squeak. I initially opined that it appeared to only occur during operation of the A/C, the area gets cold, perhaps shrinks...I don't know. It's now evident that this is not the case as the weather has cooled and the A/C has primarily been off...it still occurs.
It appears to be basically 'loose' as it can be quelled easily by pressing on it (weight directed toward the windshield) during driving (above the vents, directly above the radio) or if the passenger were to put their feet up on it on the passenger side.
Is there a somewhat easy, non-Volvo-dealership-visiting way that I can get in there and tighten it down? It's been a long summer...would love to have this go away.
Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.
JJ
