I'm an idiot

Post by Deeseven »

Last week a hose blew in my 1990 740 gl (8 valve non-turbo). Today my neighbor and I took off the exhaust manifold to get to a heater core hose. I replaced the burst hose, but now I realize I am an idiot and cannot remember where 5-6 hoses go. Does anyone happen to have a hosing diagram?

Deeseven. If you are unable to find it on internet ( I did with no positive result) you can always try to make picture off one if you can find it on wreck yard. At least you can try to match similar model/year. Hope this may help at least somehow if somebody responded, the worst is heartless silence tackling some problem. You can always try to write to mathew on PM.
Consider also the lenght of each hose. This may become not so difficult to figre it out as they "remember" their shape and the lenght is well defined. I remember being in similar position and it was working when I did it with great consideration to each of them how it was running trough the area and where it was supported by plastick holders (clean marks where they were snapped in). Have a fun!

Okay guys I have become fanatical at getting this figured. Can anyone tell me where the opposite end of the hose that contains the flame trap that connects to the pvc vavle goes? I think it goes onto part of the air filter system? Also can anyone tell me the name of the double metal hose that bolts onto the middle of the intake manifold? I need to buy the gasket it for it so I can reconnect.

DIY forever!
