I just purchased a 2007 XC70 that is prepped for sirius radio. That cost $95. I wanted to get sirius radio. I found out that I must first purchase the harness that plugs into left corner of radio where it is prepped at and then other end plugs into sirius adapter. This Volvo harness is $740.00 installed. I called Car Toys in Beaverton, Oregon (closest) to find out if I could use a portable adapter or anything other than the Volvo harness. He told me that due to the fiber optics involved I would be better off buying the harness, that other problems could happen. I can't believe it costs that much. Maybe that is why your fuses are blowing. Don't put a bigger fuse or hard wire it, it could be costly. Can anyone advise me about a way to use sirius. A harness for $740.00!!!

It's a common problem for phone chargers and such to blow the fuse for the cig lighter (power socket). I believe it's only a 10 amp fuse, what is the rating on the unit?
