I noticed recently that my left front CV boot is shot. I've been pondering whether to replace the boot, replace the axle, or ride it out for a while. I haven't been able to find any Volvo specific information on how to replace it. I have moderate skills, but I've heard this could be a tricky and messy procedure to replace the boot which is leaning me towards a replacement axle, but I haven't been able to find one as cheap as others have found on the internet, and I am also suspect of the quality of the cheap ones.
Does anyone have any experience with shop manuals on CD? There are a few on Ebay. I don't think Haynes is worth the paper its printed on, but I could be wrong.

Sorry, no firsthand experience with boots/axles, but this boot thread may help:
