Pulling code P1238 2001 v70 2.4t

I think the code is for the temperature sensor but not exctactly sure any help would be good. I looked around on this site for this code with no luck,although here lately I havent been able to find anything. I am curious to find out too if this sensor turns on the cooloing fan(s), and is there only one coolant sensor ,and I'm only seeing the one that is in the thermostat housing is this correct? thanks for any and all help or opinions.

I may be wrong, but I believe P1238 is the TCV. Turbo control valve.
Just google DTC P1238 volvo, and you will get lots of results.

you were correct I had a new resonator and muffler put on car and they stated they pulled the check engine light code and stated that it was tcv1238 they were using a snap-on dtc code reader they may havot e read their codes wrong or something i just got finished installing a new TCV last month or so,so ill see where this goes from here.
