The AC clutch kicked the bucket yesterday on the way to see family for turkey day. I hit the AC button on our 94 960, it turned on as normal (72f in LA, life is tough) but after a few seconds I heard a loud screeching sound from the engine and the cold air stopped. I turned off the AC button and the noise was reduced but didn't go away completely. As a temporary fix I picked up a shorter belt uses on the NO AC 850 in europe (PN 6k495) at Orly's. Here's whats left of the clutch. I can still turn the compressor by hand but it takes a lot of force. I'm guessing the compressor is failing internally which put too much strain on the clutch and caused it to fail.
NO AC belt routing until I can get another compressor.
