'07 V70 amp installation question

'07 V70 amp installation question

I have a '07 V70.. I ordered and bought the Hu-850 6 cd changer,the Pa-300 amp with all accessories(cables,speakers) but it says in the manual that after the Hu and amp is installed and connected the software must be downloaded and and amp has to be added.. so if I understand correctly the amp wont work unless the software is downloaded using Vida.. is that true?
