Code clarification

Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

Code clarification

Post by jkdjim »

I have a DTC sitting in my system and am not sure how to fix it.

My PPC reader says ECM-271A which translates to either P2179 -- ECM-271A Long-term fuel trim, bank 2 -- Upper limit or
P2180 -- ECM-271A Long-term fuel trim, bank 2 -- Lower limit.

So... how do I know which limit I'm at and how do I fix it once I find out?

Some googling brings up cleaning MAF (which I did a few months ago), replacing oxygen sensors (I'm already broke enough already) or cleaning PCV (which I've never done on any car).

Any leads?

I think you'll have to look at your long term fuel trim for that bank to find out which limit it is.....
