Can anyone tell me how to remove, or at least get easy access to the radio connections

To remove the radio

1. lift out the shifter cover (but do not remove)
2. Remove the little bottom trim piece below the climate control panel
3. Undo the screws to remove the climate control panel (can be a pain)
4. Undo the screws to remove the Radio

I tried this, but got stuck at getting the Climate Control out.
I removed the torx screws and pushed the clips in at the top of the climate unit (about 50mm or 2" in from each side), this let me push the climate unit down (but only by about 5mm or 1/10").
No way would it go further down or out at the top or bottom.
What am I doing wrong????

toyr almost their betweenthe climate control and the radio you must gain some clearance also hook tools also come in handy to gain clearance we generaly use abone tool body shops windshield guys use these also can be purchased at a dealer inexpensive once separation is gained hook between the units ad pull out to separate the first time you may whant to have some one show you so as not to damage anything
fun to drive
