Volvo 850 2.0 t 20v mileage

Post by c-span »

I hope someone can help me. I am about to buy a 850 2.0 turbo 20v 1994 model. I live in Norway and the car has high mileage 320.000 km. My question is- Is this too high a mileage for that car with that engine or is it ok to buy?

It's hard to say, because I don't know how much you are paying. 200k mi. on a turbo engine.. I wouldn't buy it. Of course in America, not many drive their car to 200k mi., and cars are pretty cheap.
It seems that Volvo loses gas mileage efficiency pretty steeply.
Although I believe Volvo would be a very nice car to have in Norway.
It's up to you. Trust your feelings. May the force be with you.

There's nothing wrong w/ buying a car with 300k km on it, assuming that maintenance was kept up with very well. I would just do a compression test on the engine, look for leaks, and drive the car and see how it feels.
