1998 s70 will not run

I'm new to this so please bear with me. Back in November, I parked my volvo in the garage to leave for hunting camp for 10 days. when I left, the volvo was running perfectly and one used it. When I got home the car started but it sounded like it was running on 2 cylinders. Realy rough. And I mean rough. Of course I shut it off rigjt away. Then it would not start at all. I live in the country so I thought maybe something plugged up the exhaust. I removed that all the way to the exhaust manifold. It was not the problem. So I thought maybe the fuel filter was bad. I don't know the last time it was changed. I only owned the car for a couple of months. Changed that. Not the problem. Check for water in the gas. I checked fuel pressure at the injector rail and that read 60 some on the gauge.I don't know where to go next!!!! Can any one give me any ideas. Oh, I did check the timing and it was on the marks. The belt, water pump, etc. was changed at 158,000. the car now has 189,000. I also changed the plugs. I'm not a mechanic, but I do have alot of determanation.

what IS Battery voltage? what shape is the B+ cable in? is the end of it by the fuse box corroded?

Put some oil in the cylinders (maybe 1 tbsp each) crank like crazy, and let it catch. I think it just didn't have full pressure in all the lifters and cylinders yet.

My Volvo became unhappy when sitting for a long while because valve stem seals leaked a ton of oil down in the cylinders.

I appreciate your response. I bought a scanner a couple of weeks ago. It tells me there are currently no codes in the cars computer. The check engine light is not on.

The battery cables are good end to end. I have not checked the voltage, but I have checked for spark at the coil. The spark was orange, I expected a bright blue color. Could this be a problem? Please remember to car was running perfectly when I parked it.

Hello Bob: Check your Distributor Cap, Rotor, Spark Plug Wires. Check your Spark at every Plug not just at the coil. Your electrical system is the weakest part of the engine. Wire Insulations break down and voltage leaks occur at any time. I have had Caps with hairline cracks which will run when dry but miss fire with oil, dirt, moisture on them. I had a Mercedes with a Bosch Cap that did this. Best Regards, SpeedyPete

Do a compression test. Chipped (burnt) valves are a time bomb.

I really appreciate all those who responded to my post. I thank you all. Unfortunately, the problem still exists. The real question here is what could go wrong while the car was sitting for 10 days. It was running perfectly when I parked it in the garage ???? Anyone have any ideas? In my orginal post I mentioned everything I have done so far including some of the suggestions that were posted.

If I'm reading correctly you haven't done cap, wires and assorted ignition parts yet...that would be next on my list.
