remote or alarrm malfuction?

I have a 2003 volvo s80. sometimes not all, when I hit the remote to unlock the car, it dosent work, I hit it again and it unlocks both doors, also sometimes I can unlock the car get in and the car locks before I get the key in the ignition, and vise versa, I turn the car off and remove the key and the car locks before I exit the vehicle. I replaced the battery. and it workd good for a while and it started again. this is random. anyone ever had a problem like this?
