Drivers door window wont work with engine running

Hi everyone,

I am new on here and hope someone can help me out. I live in the UK and have a 2001 V70 that has a power window fault, the drivers window will not work at all when the engine is running. All other windows are fine. Switch off the engine and I can lower and raise the window. has anyone got a clue.

I and others have had the same problem, before you do anything expensive try the following;

It may be related to a problem in the connector located on the front of the door frame near where the door hinges are.

Disconnect the harness and connector from the front of the door, check to see it is clean, spray it with some connector cleaner or just apply some silicone tune -up grease and reconnect the connector.

To do the job ensure the ignition in the "off" position, you need to open the drivers door as far as it will go, gently pull back the black rubber shield to expose the connector, use a small screw driver to lift the latch on the top of the connector and pull the connector away from the door frame to remove it.

Push the connector back into place on you have checked and cleaned the connector and replace the rubber shield.
