1993 850 Climate Control?

Summer is coming here to the south and it's time to get my lady friend's A/C working. We have the auto climate control. With the engine running, when the fan switch is moved to the variable slide, the blower works most of the time. When in the auto position doesn't work at all. However, with the engine not running and with the ignition switch is in position II, blower motor works in any position, but just as soon as the key is bumped to start, fan stops. Sliding switch to the right doesn't get it back on. If the ignition is turned off and then restarted, fan most of the time starts again. I didn't have any flashing lights when I started, I do now, but that would be from my tinkering around. Will clear them. This seems to be an intermittent issue, but the driver is becoming less and moving to a constant state of hot. If you have any ideas please respond. She does look rather cute with beads of sweat across her forehead, but it's gonna be a long summer.

Suggest finding a climate control unit from another '93 and see what changes with the fan activity.

Your problem sounds more like an ignition switch problem than an ECC problem, particularly if you don't have the blinking LEDs on startup.
