issues after tune up

How to go faster, stop quicker, and turn harder. Chips, exhaust, larger turbos, bigger/slotted/drilled rotors, high performance brake pads, manual boost controllers, performance shocks/struts/springs, airbox mods and more! Also discussion on HID and Xenon lights, aftermarket foglights and other exterior lighting.

issues after tune up

Post by mkotaiche »

I am not a mechanic, but am here for consultation. I have a 2000 S70 with 105k miles. was running perfectly until a "weekend" mechanic talked me into doing a complete tune up. He replaced:
- spark plugs, wires, and those little triangle things that plug into the spark plugs..LOL
- timing belt
- water pump
- seals
- pullies
- He adjusted the timing belt to factory specs

Now the check engine light comes on. The car idles very very rough..jerky and hesitation. Had to put it in neutral while on red light so as to keep engine rev'ed up and not die. I took it back. He said Crank Shaft Sensor needs replacement. Did that ...another 250 dollars down the tubes. Car ran smooth for 1 day then Check Engine Light came back on however, only a hint on hesittion and no jerky motion or rough ideling this time, but CLE is still on.. any ideas please??

Have the codes read and report back. Without the codes we are just guessing.

Also, what triangle things plug into spark plugs. Do you mean the ignition coil that sits on top of the plug or perhaps the rubber boot between the coil and the plug??
