Goodbye Volvo S70

I've had a S70 for the past 7 years. Advice from this forum and its members have saved my behind numerous times. Nevertheless, I no longer own a Volvo and don't plan on getting one in the future. Hopefully, I won't offend anyone when I say...Volvos are unnecessarily over engineered maintenance hogs-royal pain in the a$$.

Except for the word Volvo...I fit that description..

I'd like to say buying a new car is absolutely hassle-free not having to worry about maintenance and everything.

It ain't. Both the Chevy and the Toyota have had to go back to the dealer a couple times for things, and to me, that's way more of a hassle than fixing something that I could do myself, mainly dealing with trying to describe a problem to the idiotic people working at the dealer. I DRIVE THE CAR, I think I know what it is and isn't doing, thank you very much. It's not just my imagination, and I wouldn't waste my time and yours bringing in a car for something that isn't wrong.

But these days, everything's a stupid software update that you HAVE to visit the dealer for.

I'm jumping in to put some new transmission fluid and brakes on the Chevy soon. Just can't leave all the DIY work behind...I kinda miss it!

For me it is the imaginary "IT'S PAID FOR" sign in the widow as well as $135.00 a year for insurance and $0.00 a year property tax cause it's too old. Hit a tree, walk away and get another one

Yeah, I'm on here a lot but only because I am in front of computers 20 hours a day. Truth is, my pair of Volvos run pretty good and run every day.

! I pay around that a MONTH. Stupid DC drivers making my rates jump up.

Yeah, but it knows I got a brand new MAF to put in and if it acts up it goes to bed with no dessert
