'01 V70T5 Almost failed smog, high HC

'01 V70 T5a, 148,xxx miles and I drive it ~25 miles one way to and from work every day, plus weekend jaunts. To my knowledge, factory exhaust header to tailpipe. It seems to run fine, consumes maybe a half quart of oil between 7.5k mile changes and gets about 21-23 MPG on those 25 mile commutes.

So the DMV sent my registration notice a couple weeks ago and it had the dreaded SMOG Test Required notification on it. So I take it to the smog shop in Irvine and it passes. Barely. Comes within 2PPM of failing the 15MPH hydrocarbon test. Everything else seems fine. On the top of the test certificate it did have the car flagged as "Inspection Reason: High Emitter Profile".

What should I be looking at to make sure that it can pass smog later in its life?
