XC70 Fuel Line Leak by tank

I have gas pouring out of the fuel line outer hose right as it goes on to the fuel filter. I think it is the filter. It has a pressure test valve on the other side of the filter. It leaking between the outer hose and inner rigid plastic tubing.

My question is: which side of a 2003 XC70 filter or whatever it is on passenger side of fuel tank (looks like a metal filter to me, could be a check valve maybe), but i want to know does the fuel pump fuel line feed into this filter on the fore or aft side of the filter? I cant tell which way the fuel is running through this metal filter.

I am trying to determine if the hose that is leaking runs to the engine or to the top of the gas tank to the fuel pump flange. I am not in a state covered by the recall if that is my problem.
