Hey guys...As you see in the subject line, my problem is my wife's 2000 V70 XC. This problem has been a long time coming, and shame on me for not dealing with it sooner, but I can't change that now.
For some time now, the ETS, ABS and possibly one other light have been coming on sporadically. That was it, no behavior issues, they would go out after a bit, and life went on. Most recently, she informs me, the car has been hesitating after being put into gear after starting. It has seemed to work itself out, but it has not been that long in doing that. Tonight, I got the dreaded call: the car will not start. I have not even been over to her work parking lot to check it yet as this situation is a suitable end to a perfectly shi**y day. If I could get some opinions on what to do, where to check, etc. I would greatly appreciate it. I know a potential culprit is the ETS, but I am really looking for some hand-holding guidance tonight, as it truly has been one hell of a week thus far. I am pretty handy and have done all maintenance on my car except for the timing belt, so I am not afraid to dig in...I just need some input! As always, thanks so much for the help this forum provides...it really is invaluable.
