Get on the VEXED mailing list

The fight is not over. The extended warranty is a CARB (California Air Resources Board) victory. As I have stated before and will state again we still have a fignt on our hands. Here is what I see needs to be done:

Get the dealers to repair/replace without a On Board Diagnostic code being set, but replace on symptoms encountered by owners.

Get the part redesigned so the replaced part is a life of the car design.

Define whether the extended warranty is a once per car or for each ETM replacement.

But for now let's build up the data base.

Send an e-mail to [email protected] with ;
Your name
Your location, state and country
Describe briefly your ETM failure
Have you sent a complaint to NHTSA?

I now have about 300 in the list in 15 countries. When I send out e-mail I send your names as blind copy (Bcc) so no one else sees your address or can reply to all.

If you have not seen the TV reports you can at http://www.kmgh.com click on 'Iinvestigators' then on the Volvo story. To see the first report click on 'previous story'.

Here's a direct link to the news story:

I'd like to throw my effort behind Don's efforts by asking you to please get on Don's mailing list if you have a '99-02 Volvo and are affected by this problem.

It doesn't matter which country you're in or if you're not the first owner. Also, the original Volvo warrany has nothing to do with this. You should get on the list in any case.
Help keep MVS on the web -> click sponsors' links here on MVS when you buy from them.

Also -> Amazon link
. Click that when you go to buy something on Amazon and MVS gets a cut!
