Help, Advice and DIY Tutorials on Volvo's P80 platform cars -- Volvo's 1990s "bread and butter" cars -- powered by the ubiquitous and durable Volvo inline 5-cylinder engine.
While doing the rear suspension links last weekend I noticed this hose was broken. If anyone could let me know what this is for and what it supposed to be doing that'd be awesome. It's just behind and above the fuel filter if you can't tell from the picture. Thanks Untitled by stheis004, on Flickr
I initially thought you were referring to the crackly looking fuel hose but now I see the plastic pipe with the broken hose. Doesn't look familiar but it may be an evap hose for the fuel tank.

The white thing is the rollover valve. Very common for that hose to be broken and it should be fixed so fuel doesn't drain out if you tip the car over (!). It is easy to follow the line to the other end nearby, I always replace it with generic fuel line and clamps, make sure it fits snugly on both ends. That broken hose is a common cause of intermittent p0455 code.
