Disclaimer: (this is my 2nd post)
So, I've done a lot of sifting through google searches, and I'm having a hard time coming up with a defenetive answer or method for what I want to do. Alot of the posts that come through on google searches are outdated or have broken links, or simply don't satisfy my quest for a how-to. I will gladly remove this thread if there is an already existing / similar one here on MVS. Just let me know.
Here goes:
My '98 V70 has a broken headlight housing. Can't adjust the beam, it's internals are simply flopping around inside the housing. Sure, I can just replace the thing with an original, but I've lately been checking out the ability to use c70 jewel headlights / corners in these cars. I think it looks outstanding. Even more, I would like to run low-power HID's (35w, <6000k) in this and to do that properly I'm going to need to convert these over to projectors.
Can the powers-that-be here at MVS lend me some links, how-to's, or advice on doing this? If I had my way, the car would look like the photo attached. I think it's gorgeous.
Easy mode: Buy the projectors on IPD and use halogen bulbs (the description recommends against HID's)
Medium mode: Get E-code lenses for the V70 and just use halogens (i hear it pisses a lot of people off to convert to HID, the light pattern and all)
Hard mode: Get c70 assemblies. convert the low beam side to projectors. run HID's.
What do you guys think?

Have a read of This Thread, it contains some info on the projectors and a few pictures of them fitted to my V70, since that thread I have fitted HIDs and it all works fine, I have also swapped out the sidelight bulb for an array of white LEDs that fit behind the sidelight bar - Easy to fit and well worth the outlay - Mike
Edit to add, have you checked the existing headlight adjustment motor is still connected to the reflector, the headlight adjustment motor (or the manual adjustment mechanism) simply twists through 45 degrees for it to release from the bayonet style retainer in the rear of the headlight, on the end of the adjustment motor/ mech is a ball that should be fitted in to a corresponding socket on the reflector - If you do take the existing headlights to bits to try and repair them DO NOT touch the reflectors with anything, don't even try a wipe with soft cloth or the reflectivity will simply wipe away leaving you with no option but to replace the headlights - Mike
