Hi all,
I am sure this is not a new problem to some of you, but to me it is. I have a 99 S70 and have what appears to be fuel injector clicking at idle. I can't be sure though, and wanted to know if anyone has any advise on how to determine if this is the case.
I had a friend of mine who is a BMW mechanic say that it could be lifters and that I should change my oil, run the same amount of automatic transmission fluid in the car for about 45 minutes, then drain and fill the engine with oil again in attempts to clean the lifters. I am not really sure if I want to do this, but it seems to be a good way to clean the engine.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to approach troubleshooting the ticking noise I am hearing?? Thanks for your assistance in advance.

Nah, the injectors normally do that on these cars from time to time. Though I don't know why, someone somewhere probably does. Ticky lifters are louder, you can here them sometimes when it's very cold outside for about 1/2 second after you start your car.

This topic comes up somewhat often on Volvo's 5-cyl engines. It's the injectors. Fooled me for a time when I got my 850.
