2004 XC90, 2.9l Auto. Problem with vehicle: Driver window doesn't work, when left signal light is on the door ajar light comes on and inside lights turn on, and other misc items like that. Plugged VIDA in and came up with the DDM, so tried upgrade the software on it. During the verification/download, the software is failing. I have checked the VIDA "Help", emailed them (with no response), and have checked the possible reasons for the failure (battery voltage at 13-15v plugged in, hardwired connection from both internet to PC, and PC to dice.I have posted the failure response below.
Since we are still new to VIDA, how do you normally go about solving a problem like this when the help guide doesn't help? Where is the best place to get this kind of help?
Download result
Download failed
A fault arose while downloading, probably for one of the following reasons:
1. Battery voltage too low
2. The connection between VIDA and the communication tool has failed.
3. The connection between the communication tool and the data link connector (DLC) has failed.
4. One of the control modules is not responding
5. The software package obtained is damaged or incomplete.
Ensure that:
Battery voltage exceeds 12 V
Communication tool is connected correctly to VIDA.
Communication tool is correctly connected to the data link connector (DLC) in the vehicle.

I would check the door harness. Looks like ground or power wire is broken.dcollins318 wrote:2004 XC90, 2.9l Auto. Problem with vehicle: Driver window doesn't work, when left signal light is on the door ajar light comes on and inside lights turn on, and other misc items like that.
If you have questions about Volvo firmware ask me. I may know an answer
Hi!
I believe you are at the number 3 issue. The connection between your computer and Volvo is severed.
I've tried out Vida and Dice a couple of times. Did you get it from Volvo? I believe most sold online (less than 1 000 USD) are counterfeit (cracked/pirated). From what I've seen earlier the crack provided prevents the application to contact Volvo. If the email you sent was from Vida then most probably that's why you didn't get a reply (they didn't recieve it). Volvo technical support usually replies within hours, at least within a couple of business days.
