1997 v70 Don´t have Heat in inside

1997 v70 Don´t have Heat in inside

Hello,
I have a problem with heating (heater core) in my V70.

a few weeks ago, I foud that not warmed, in inside the vents ran only cold air, even with the fan motor, both in automatic mode or manual, so I went to research what little i understand.


1st point to see if the tubes that connect the radiator heater were hot, confirmed, were:? :

How to adjust to hot or cold was exactly the same, I checked the butterfly that separates the upper zone climate control, has two small electric motors that make open and close the throttle, ie when I adjust to it seals the cold zone where the radiator heater, if I adjust to hot seals the top of where the entrance from the outside,

checked the sensors and climate control and everything appears normal, at least in AC function to regulate automatic and will increasing or decreasing temperature and ventilation match, it seems to me that everything is normal.

continued the search and open the compartment heater radiator, the radiator was in good hot so did not get to any conclusion.

there is one thing that makes me confused, there should exist an valve shutoff water, coming from the engine into the radiator heater? I can´t found nothing in the car, so if you will be in the engine area, anyone know where there is?
Or simply just sealed by this butterfly on inside :?:

I'm confused and no solutions if anyone can help me, apreciate.

How long have you owned the car?

Have you checked the firewall connections? Maybe the previous owner had a heater core leak and decided to bypass at the firewall area?

The heater core is always 'hot', meaning the antifreeze always flows whenever the engine is on. So that is not your problem.

If the air flow changes when you move the vent selectors, that is a good thing.

The temperature select knobs will open/close the vent for the heat/AC. Do you have yellow blinking lights when you first start the car? The recirculation and AC switch can blink 20 times if there is an error. If they blink, then try to clean the cabin temperature sensor located to the left of the ECC unit as the last switch. It has a little grill in it.

I am confused. Is the heater core HOT or NOT?

If HOT, you may want to check your DASH BLEED CONTROL KNOB. Many people over look it and it mixes the cool outside air with the warm air so your face doesn't get hot. Close it and you will only get HOT air out of the upper vents.

The motor that selects cold or hot air is probably defective. It might just be as simple as the linkage has fallen off.

There are two motors, one on each side. The probability that both of them failed is remote, but a failure would cause the blinking yellow lights of death.
I don't understand, it is not that cold in Germany yet.

Hello,
the V70 is mine since 2010, and the last two years, the heating worked, and now stoped working.

The hoses in firewall are good, last year i have changed the support and o`rings to make the transition into the heater core.

hELLO,
the climate control Don´t blink.

The sensor is a good ideia, but is not this sensor the same for AC?? for freeze from AC in automatic mode, works perfectly, increase or decrease temperatur this works good.. so i thik this is not the problem.
