How did you come across the solution? Did you keep swapping BCMs until software numbers matched or was there another fix?

Basically I think it's a game of roulette...I went through 4 units unit/£300 before I got a match....still cheaper than the £1,000 quote from the indie which would have written my car off...it was a bit of a gamble but at least you know it is possible...everyone I spoke with said the units were individually locked to each car.

I have just replaced my DSTC ABS/BCM p/n 8634413 and all errors and typical misbehavior are gone. The used module I put on must be a little different in its SW config as I get a DTC BCM 0076. So, my independent says he can do SW reload for about $130. I have seen the SW advertised for about $50, http://www.volvopartsdept.com/OEMParts/ ... 82705.html.

Can I do this myself with my China VIDA DiCEpro? Anyone successfully tried that, if how is it done?

Car is -01 V70 T5. Cheers.

Sorry to revive an old thread, but were you able to program this bcm to your car?

I have replaced the bcm on my 05 s60r. Same part numbers on units. Not sure how to read the software versions.

Got rid of (intermittently at least, possible sensor failing) the abs light, but still Getting anti- skid service required.

You need Vida to read off old vs new software versions in Network menu.

If your replacement is a used unit it is more than likely requiring repair and/or resoldering

Tried the same with my v70 secon gen. I got a used unit an checked with volvo that partnumber was the same and it suppose to fit my car. I mounted it then got this bcm0070 code instead of earlier codes. It means that the car doesnt correspond with the used unit because it has been fitted in another car earlier. Its not possible to put new program in it cause the brand new unit programs it self when fittet to each car. The also told me i had to get a brand new unit that cost like 2 thousen euros at least. Thats really f.up for bcm that volvo knows its bad. Its a known problem that they malfunction. Only thing i could think of would vork it to swT the chip /transistor that contains the programming from the original one to the used one. But who would know widge it is???? I would really like to know that.

No contact Doublebug (contributor to this thread) or his associate in California (Yagger) and they can read old sw versions using your Dice unit over the internet and clone another BCM if it has the same part number (most of them end in xxxx2216)

They have done BCMs, ECMs, ETMs and CEMs for me on a number of occasions and they do great work
